What moves the price
Size and thickness. Concrete is priced by the square metre, and driveways for vehicles need more thickness than a garden path. Bigger area, more concrete, more cost.
Site preparation. A flat, clear block with good soil is cheaper to prepare than a sloping block, a demolition of the old driveway, or ground that needs excavation and a compacted base. Preparation is real work and it shows up in the quote.
Access. If a concrete truck can back up to the pour, the job is quick. If the concrete has to be pumped or barrowed a long way, labour goes up. Photos of the access are one of the most useful things you can send with a quote request.
The finish. Plain grey concrete is the starting point. Coloured concrete, exposed aggregate, stencilled patterns and burnished finishes each add materials and labour.
Drainage and fall. Water has to go somewhere. Getting the fall right, and any grates or channels, is part of doing the job properly.

A rough figure from a website is a starting point, not a price. The only number that matters is the written quote for your block and your job. When you ask for a quote, include your suburb, the rough measurements, photos of the area and the access, and the finish you have in mind. That gets you a firmer price, faster.
